26-Dec-2011 Evgeniya Doluhanova was transferred to the Armenian Chess Federation
 


Armenian WGM Evgeniya Doluhanova, by her request, was transferred to the Armenian Chess Federation from the Ukrainian Chess Federation. Today FIDE officially confirmed that transfer.

Doluhanova is a winner of a number of international tournaments. She is the Ukrainian Woman Champion, 2009.

GM Hrant Melkumyan scored 20 points out of 26 and became the Champion of Europe in the Continental Blitz Championship which was held in Warsaw, Poland.

379 chess players (including 57 grandmasters) who represent 25 countries, took part in the tournament.

After the end of the European Blitz Chess Championship Armenian grandmasters Hrant Melkumyan, Sergei Movsesian, Zaven Andriasian, Hrair Simonian, Artur Gabrielian are taking part in the Continental Rapid Chess Championship which is being held in Warsaw, Poland on December 17-18, 2011.

GM Varuzhan Akobian scored 7 points out of 8 and won the first prize at American Open that was held in Orange City.

Now the rapid chess tournament is going on. Danielian and Skripchenko-Agababian have 1 point after two rounds. The leader is GM Alexandra Kosteniuk with 2 points.
