GMs Levon Aronian, Vladimir Akopian, Gabriel Sargissian, Arman Pashikian, Tigran L. Petrosian, Zaven Andriasian are taking part in the European Club cup-2009 in composition of the "Mika" (Yerevan) team. The tournament is being held in Ohrid, Macedonia from October 3 to 10.

The members of "Mika" women's team in European Club Cup are WGMs Elina Danielian, Harika Dronavalli, Nino Khurtsidze, Lilit Galojan.

FIDE has appointed international arbiter Ashot Vardapetian (Armenia) the Chief Arbiter of the World Chess Cup which is to start on November 20, 2009 in Khanty-Mansiysk.

GMs Gabirel Sargissian and Tigran L. Petrosian will take part in the World Cup which is to be held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, starting from November 20, 2009. The 128 participants of the tournament will fight with the "knock out" sytem not only for the cup, but as well for the right to participate in the World Champion candidates' tournament.

This book by Gaguik Oganessian (Yerevan, 2009) is dedicated to the great chess event, France-Armenia match, which was held in France in June, 2009. Two of the strongest teams of the world, Armenian and French, were fighting for the Armavia Chess Trophy with the rules of the rapid chess in Paris. All the games played during the match, many photos, informative materials are published in the book.
