(USA), Harikrishna (India) and Kritz (Germany).
This round-robin tournament was held in the Texas Tech

WGM Katerina Rohonyan (USA) also played successfully with WGM Inna Gaponenko (Ukraine) in the second game of the second round, beat her and equalized the scores.

The Moser - Mkrtchian Match
After a dramatic struggle, Armenian WGM Lilit Mkrtchian beat WGM Eva Moser (Austria) 3,5:2,5 and will continue in the second round of the World Women's Championship. After three draws in the tie-break Lilit won in a blitz game. On September 1, Mkrtchian commences her second match with WFM Anna Gasik (Poland).
Another Armenian, WGM Katerina Rohonyan (USA) also succeeded in the tie-break of the first round. She made a great surprise by winning against tough WGM Natalia Zhukova (Ukraine) 2,5:1,5. Now Rohonyan will encounter another Ukrainian WGM Inna Gaponenko.
