Armenian IM Tigran Gharamian (France) gained 8 points of 9 and won the 1st place in the 15th Open, held in Nikea, Greece. Gharamian left behind GMs Banikas (Greece), Petkov (Bulgaria), Malakhatko (Belgium), Westerinen (Finland) particularly.

341 chess players took part in the tournament.

Armenian IM Krikor-Sevag Mekhitarian (Brazil) gained 5 points of 6 and won the 1st place in a tournament, held in Goyania, Brazil.

24-Sep-2007 Karen Grigoryan's Bronze Medal
 
Armenian chess player Karen Grigoryan gained 7 points of 9 and won a bronze medal in B12 group in the 17th European Youth Championship, held in Sibenik, Croatia.
 
24-Sep-2007 Hovik Khalikian's Success
 
Armenian chess player FM Hovik Khalikian gained 6 points of 7 and took the 2nd place in Traunsee Open, held in Gmunden, Austria. Khalikian had no looses and stayed behind the winner GM Davit Shengelia (Georgia) only with 0,5 point.

Armenian GM Levon Aronian participates in World Championship, held in Mexico on September 12-30, 2007. GMs Kramnik, Morozevich, Svidler, Grischuk (Russia), Anand (India), Leko (Hungary), Gelfand (Israel) are Aronian's competitors.

The event is double round robin. The game days are September 13-16, 18-21, 23-25, 27-29. In case of necessity a tiebreak will be held on September 30.

8-Sep-2007 Vl. Akopian and S. Movsesian in Karlovy Vary Tournament
 
Armenian GMs Vladimir Akopian and Sergey Movsesian (Slovakia) take part in Grandmaster Round Robin Tournament, held on September 8-15 in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. Ponomariov (Ukraine), Korchnoi (Switzerland), Timman (Netherlands), Shirov (Spain), Navara and Laznicka (Czech Republic) are the other participants of the tournament.

The event is dedicated to the centenary of Carlsbad historical tournament.

Armenian GMs Arman Pashikian and Davit Arutinian (Georgia) gained 7,5 points of 9 and shared the 2-12th places in the 6th International Tournament, held in Istanbul, Turkey. Pashikian and Arutinian stayed behind the winner GM Mikhail Gurevich (Turkey) only with 0,5 point.

IM Levon Babujian and David Kalashian gained 7 points each, IM Georgi Arzumanian 6,5, Aghasi Inants 6, Armen Grigorev (Georgia) 5,5, Harutun Hagop Kebabciyan (Turkey) 3,5 points.
