Armenian Chess Players at Solin Tournament
 
Armenian GM Sergei Movsesian (Slovakia) had a new victory in the 6th round at 14th International Grandmaster Tournament held in Solin. Croatia. Movsesian has 4,5 points and is still on the 2nd place after 6 rounds. GM Malakhov (Russia) has 5 points and is the leader.

WGM Lilit Mkrtchian has 1, 5 points.

Three rounds are left before the end of the tournament.

Armenian Chess Players at Solin Tournament
 
Armenian GM Sergei Movsesian (Slovakia) and WGM Lilit Mkrtchian take part at 14th International Grandmaster Tournament held in Solin, Croatia. Movsesian has 3,5 points and is on the 2nd place after five rounds. Mkrtchian has 1 point.

GM Malakhov (Russia) has 4 points and is the leader.

Karen Movsziszian at Ibiza Tournament
 
Armenian GM Karen Movsziszian gained 5 points of 9 and took the 5th place at Paisos Catalans Tournament held in Ibiza, Spain. Movsziszian was behind the winner GM Borges Mateos (Cuba) with 0,5 point.

Armenian Championships: Selection Tournaments
 
Armenian Men and Women Championships' Selection Tournaments in Yerevan came to their end. IMs Artur Chibukhchian, David Karatorossian (Men Tournament) and Liana Aghabekian, Ani Darbinyan (Women Tournament) got the right to take part in Armenian Championships High Leagues which will take place in January, 2007.

Aronian and Sargissian at Corus Tournament
 
Armenian GMs Levon Aronian and Gabriel Sargissian will take part in the Corus tournament in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands on 12th-28th January 2007.

We present the lists of the two groups.

A Group:
Kramnik, Topalov, Anand, Svidler, Morozevich, Aronian, Radjabov, Shirov, Ponomariov, Carlsen, Tiviakov, Van Wely, Karjakin, Motylev.

B Group:

Vladimir Kramnik vs. Deep Fritz Match
 
Vladimir Kramnik will play the ChessBase computer program Deep Fritz in a 6 game match 25th November - 5th December 2006 in the German’s Art and Exhibition Hall in Bonne. Kramnik stands to win a prize of $1 Million US for a win in the match doubling his starting fee.

Armenian FM Armen Tonoian (Russia) won the first prize in the open held in Moscow where the representatives of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Peru have been taking part. Tonoian gained 9 points of 12.

Tigran Gharamian's Success
 
Armenian IM Tigran Gharamian (France) gained 8,5 points of 9 and won the first place at Rapid Tournament held in Boulonnais, France.

50 chess players were taking part at the tournament.

Giorgi Bagaturov's Success
 
Armenian GM Giorgi Bagaturov (Georgia) gained 6,5 points of 8 and shared the 1-4 places in the open held in Adana (Turkey). Georgian chess players GM Mchedlishvili, GM V. Gaprindashvili and Morchiashvili showed the equal results.

90 chess players were taking part at the tournament.

Aronian is the Second in Tal Blitz Memorial
 
Armenian GM Levon Aronian won the second prize in Mikhail Tal Blitz Memorial. This tournament was being held in Moscow after the main Tal Memorial. 18 famous grandmasters were taking part in the competitions which was being held in Double Round Robin. Aronian gained 21 points of 34. The first prize went to GM Anand (India) who gained 23 points.

Sadvakasov-Andriasian Match
 
Armenian chess player, World U20 Champion Zaven Andriasian will have a match with GM Darmen Sadvakasov (Kazakhstan) on December 17-21, 2006 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The chess players will play two classic and two rapid rounds.

It is the third time that Sadvakasov's matches are organized in Kazakhstan. Sadvakasov's previous two competitors were Korchnoi and Karpov.

Aronian Among the Tal Memorial Winners
 

Armenian GM Levon Aronian gained 5,5 points of 9 and became one of Mikhail Tal Memorial winners held in Moscow, Russia.

GMs Leko (Hungary) and Ponomariov (Ukraine) shared 1-3 places with Aronian.

Armenian Chess Days in Lyon
 
Armenian chess days, dedicated to Armenia's year in France, have been held in Lyon. The main event of the program was the international chess tournament where 94 chess players took part.

Armenian GM Tigran L. Petrosian gained 8,5 points of 9 and won the first prize.

Armenian young chess players' achievements
 
Armenian chess players won not only gold and silver medals in World Youth Championship held in Batumi, Georgia. World silver medal winner Hrant Melkumyan (B18) and Yuri Hambartsumian (B18) fulfilled International Master's norms.

Aronian's and Sargissian's Team-Spain Champion
 
Linex-Magic club where Armenian GMs Levon Aronian and Gabriel Sargissian play, became Spain team champion. Linex-Magic had a victory over Cuna De Dragones-Ajoblanco with score 4,5:1,5 in the final match. GMs Ponomariov, Shirov, Karjakin, Rublevsky and IM Perez Candelario were playing together with Sargissian in this match. Aronian did not play in the final match as he was acting in Tal Memorial in Moscow these days.

The competitors of Aronian will be GMs Svidler (Russia), Morozevich (Russia), Leko (Hungary), Gelfand (Israel), Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan), Shirov (Spain), Grischuk (Russia), Ponomariov (Ukraine), Carlsen (Norway) in the tournament of the 20th rank.
