Armenian GM Karen Grigoryan played excellently at the open in Barcelona, Spain. He scored 7,5 points out of 9 and solely took the first prize. GM Karen Movsziszian’s result was 6 points.

Armenian GM Tigran L. Petrosian played excellently at Najdorf Memorial that was held in Warsaw, Poland. He scored 6,5 points out of 9 and took the first prize. The same results had also six other participants but they were behind Petrosian by the tie-break. GM Hrant Melkumyan ended with 5,5 points.

By the tie-break Gharamian took the second prize. The winner of the tournament was Fedorchuk.
